The Neighborhood of Manitowoc County is a collaborative initiative bringing together The Warming Shelter, Hope House, The Haven, and other community partners to create affordable and transitional housing for individuals and families facing homelessness. The McKinley Window Restoration project is the first step of a continuum of living that supports residents on their path to self-sufficiency and independent living. A key component of this effort is the rehabilitation of the historic McKinley Building into 36 affordable apartments—an important step toward addressing Manitowoc’s growing need for housing and strengthening the community through collaborative action.
We invite our community to be part of making this vision a reality. Phase One, “Framing the Future: A New Vision for McKinley,” requires $1.5 million, with $1 million already secured through generous donations. The full project is expected to cost $12 million. Your support will helping raise funds and closing the gap will help bring safe, stable housing to those who need it most. Together, we can restore not just a building, but hope, dignity, and opportunity for our neighbors.
